Discover new possibilities for building fragile, delicate forms using porcelain paperclay. This mix of paper and clay creates a strong structure before firing and results in light, delicate and sometimes translucent objects. The workshop will start with clay preparation and processing while discussing a variety of additives. Demonstrations will include multiple building options such as: wet building on an armature and slab assemblage with dry clay. Experimentation as well as traditional hand building will be encouraged. Explore surface and color with a variety of finishing ideas including fired and non-fired options as well as non-traditional surfaces. No prior experience required. All levels and backgrounds welcome!
